Achieve Clinical Results
About Whelton Methods®
Whelton Methods® is a breakthrough approach to orthopedic care developed by world renowned physical therapist, Dr. Ryan Whelton. Based on years of clinical practice and research, these methods are designed to help licensed healthcare professionals address the root causes of many musculoskeletal and neurological conditions.
Dr. Whelton has identified thousands of specific points in the human body—found at certain joint angles and pressure directions—that may help significantly reduce or even eliminate pain for many patients. These techniques are used by practitioners in over 40 countries and are being integrated by clinicians working with athletes in the NFL, MLB, and Division I collegiate sports programs.
The Whelton Methods® system provides an easy-to-learn framework for improving outcomes in orthopedic care. Practitioners commonly report:
-
Rapid pain relief for many patients
-
Increased range of motion
-
Decreased muscle spasms
-
Faster recovery times
Courses are open to licensed healthcare professionals and focus on hands-on, manual techniques and protocols that can be applied immediately in clinical settings.

Support Rapid Pain Modulation
The Whelton Methods® Myofascial Referral Technique offers a novel clinical framework developed to help practitioners explore pain referral patterns and apply targeted manual techniques. Many clinicians report that patients often experience significant changes in comfort and mobility during treatment
Improve Range of motion
Learn techniques designed to support rapid improvements in range of motion and function—often observed in clinical settings. Many practitioners report being surprised by how quickly some patients respond when using these methods
Supports Muscle Relaxation
Many clinicians report that using the Whelton Methods® Myofascial Referral Technique helps patients experience reduced muscle tension or spasm—especially in cases of musculoskeletal discomfort. These techniques are intended to complement the body’s natural recovery process.

Dr. Norm Shealy, M.D., Ph.D., neurosurgeon, inventor of the TENS Unit, Spinal Cord Stimulator, Rhizotomy surgical procedure, author of 325 articles, 37 books, New York Times best seller and foremost expert in the world for pain says:
"Ryan Whelton is an intuitive genius, a real healer, I hope his treatment becomes a first-line treatment for most pain problems."
About Our Courses
Participants who learn the Whelton Methods® easy to implement systems will understand and become competent in treating root causes of the most common orthopedic conditions and how to implement simple protocols to achieve desired results. They will learn and understand proper patient positioning and proper direction of pressure with the myofascial methods becoming proficient in relieving or eliminating pain immediately.
Most people that take the myofascial courses report to us 80%-90% of their patients they can instantly relieve pain and achieve full range of motion or close to it using the approximately 1,000 pages of highly detailed maps of the body that delineate “off switches” for most musculoskeletal pain problems.
Using the Sciatica/Cervical Radiculopathy points mapped most practitioners report to us an approximate 80% success rate at instantly relieving symptoms.

In this educational session, Dr. Whelton will demonstrate how specific referral areas — such as one on the elbow — may be connected to regions like the medial knee. You'll see how the WheltonMRT® technique is used by clinicians to explore real-time responses in musculoskeletal pain patterns.
Simple and Effective
Whelton Myofascial Referral Technique® is based on Dr. Whelton’s clinical mapping of consistent, body-wide patterns in how certain areas of the body respond to specific types of pressure. The method maps potential connections between regions that may share functional or fascial relationships — offering clinicians a new lens through which to approach pain modulation and movement restoration.
"OFF SWITCHES" FOR PAIN
Points are engaged using specific patient positioning and precise angles of pressure as outlined by Dr. Whelton. These techniques are designed to support clinical strategies aimed at influencing pain perception and mobility patterns throughout the body. Many practitioners have reported notable patient responses when integrating these methods into their treatment approach.
